For the first time in Romania, Red Bull organized in 2011 the one on one basketball tournament King of the Rock with the world final played in september in Alcatraz US.

At the end of October, Drobeta Turnu Severin Gym Hall hosted the Carpati Trophee at women handball. National teams from Romania, Ukraine, Poland and Macedonia participated at the event. The competition was won by the team of Romania

The Romanian Basketball Federation has opened in December 2009 the Basketball Arena inside Lia Manoliu sport centre. The Romanian Basketball Federation become the first national federation in Romania to have its own sport hall. Sport Arena has contributed to this project by installing the wood flooring as well as the spectators tribunes, basketball systems and electronic scoreboards.

Ghita Muresan has visited the Basketball Arena. He is the most famous Romanian Basketball player. He played for U Cluj, Pau Orthez (France), Washington Bullets and New jersey Nets (NBA). He also played for the Romanian Basketball National Team.

From May 6th to 10th, Sport Arena will be present at the international fair Construct Expo Ambient in the Romexpo Exhibition Centre.

Starting with October 17th, 2008, Sport Arena is a ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2005 and OHSAS 18001:2008 certified company.

SPORT ARENA has been awarded by the Romanian Basketball federation, the special prize for promoting basketball at the Romanian Basketball Gala held on December 15th 2009 at Bucharest Intercontinental hotel.

SPORT ARENA has succesfully completed a unique project in Romania - the setting up of 34 modern outdoor courts for all the schools and highschools in the city of Bacau
